What to do after a Storm

It can be very overwhelming and scary once a storm occurs and you now have an inch of water in your basement. It’s important to locate all areas the water has migrated to.   Just because your drywall might look dry doesn’t mean the insulation behind is.  The longer it stays wet, the higher chance you have of microbial growth.  Below is a list of areas we recommend checking when you have water damage.

  • Ceilings of rooms under the source
  • Walls
  • Floors
  • Wet Insulation
  • Duct Systems
  • Crawl Spaces
  • Basements

It’s not always easy to check these things yourself, especially if you don’t have the proper equipment to do so.  SERVPRO® of South Chesterfield/Wildwood is always happy to provide you with a free estimate.  We’ll use the right tools to track what areas have been affected and give you an estimate for mitigating any damage.  We’re here to make it “Like it never even happened.”
